Aarhus Denmark

Visit to Aarhus, the happiest city in Denmark.

At least that’s what they say, but we can imagine something with that! We arrived this summer with our sailing yacht and were pleasantly surprised. A just started jazz festival and the AroS Aarhus Art Museum were an immediate reason to extend our stay by a few days.

When you enter the AroS museum, you immediately notice the enormous textile artwork by the Portuguese artist Joanavas Concelos that branches out like an octopus over the galleries.
A wonderful experience is the Rainbow Panorama by artist Olafur Eliasson on the roof of the museum, you look out over the city in an ever-changing color experience.

The city offers a pleasant contact between the industrial port and the cozy city center. The free bikes (throw in 20 crowns of coin as a deposit) will easily take you through the whole city.
Be surprised by the many shops and restaurants!

We certainly sail that way again, but a long weekend by car is definitely recommended.
Aarhus is still European Capital of Culture throughout 2017 with extra activities.
