Jacob Marell (1614-1681) was a German painter who resided in Utrecht for some time. The biggest challenge for the flower still live painter was to capture the Middle Eastern imported flowers as true to nature as possible.
We’ve put together a collage out of different works from him, to give you an impression of his work. The collage is available to order online as a kitchen splashback design. Part of the collage is for example the painting “Zwei Tulpen, ein Schneckenhaus und ein Insect, 1634”.
